The East Bay Clean Cities Coalition is your single source provider for the best information on clean air vehicle and associated clean air and petroleum displacement funding opportunities. We are pleased to provide the latest information on funding for alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) and related clean air projects listed below. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) is the public agency entrusted with regulating stationary sources of air pollution in the nine counties that surround San Francisco Bay: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, southwestern Solano, and southern Sonoma counties. BAAQMD represents the majority of the geographical region covered by the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition. BAAQMD also sponsors numerous clean air vehicle and related funding programs. The Yolo/Solano Air Quality Management District (YSAQMD) represents Yolo and Solano Counties. This includes the western portion of Solano County geographically covered by the East Bay Clean Cities Coalition. The Yolo/Solano Air Quality Manegement District sponsors numerous clean air incentive programs including their annual Clean Air Fund (CAF) Program which is designed to reduce emissions from motor vehicles by supporting cleaner vehicle technologies, alternative modes of transportation, and educating the public about air pollution. The program offers incentive funding for mobile sources of air pollution that are not subject to district regulation or other state for federal air pollution laws.


The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 encompasses the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii and offers both ongoing and project-specific grant funding opportunities which may be a source for statewide, regional, or local project funding. The Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the regional Metrolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and also may be a funding source for Bay Area clean air vehicle and transportation funding incentives.
